The LA Rams are linked to 5 free agents in the 2020 NFL Free Agency market. But the Rams are only trying them on, and likely will return some to the market

The LA Rams have been connected to several NFL Free agency signings so far in this offseason. The team has been reported to re-signing left tackle Andrew Whitworth, center Austin Blythe, defensive lineman Michael Brockers, and adding outside linebacker Leonard Floyd and defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. The elephant in the room is the fact that the Rams haven’t sufficient cap space to endorse all these contracts without additional work to free up cap space.

We have been stating our suspicions with each signing. First, when the team announced adding DT A’Shawn Robinson. We doubled down on the same curiosity when the Rams announced bringing back DT Michael Brockers.  In that article, we pointed out:

"“How will the LA Rams pay for this? Well, the only options are to restructure, renegotiate, or trade players. I suspect this warrants pushing QB Jared Goff to restructure his deal and free up over $20 million.”- Bret Stuter, FanSided Ramblin Fan"

The Rams may be creating an even bigger mess right now. In the effort to retain top NFL talent, the first step is having adequate money to do so. Right now, the Rams do not have that available money, which means they will be under a lot of pressure to find it.
