The LA Rams 2020 NFL Draft is on schedule. In mock draft 5.0, the Rams need starters and depth. Yes, we have even included trade with this mock draft.

The LA Rams have been a bit of an enigma in the 2020 offseason so far. Whether by design or random chance, the team appears to have been unpredictable in many ways.  The offseason began with a transition of at the teams’ coordinator positions. Then the team positioned itself, despite limits with both salary cap and draft picks, on a steady-as-she-goes course.

And then, the wheels fell off the running game. Well, to be more precise, the LA Rams parted ways with some veteran players. Kick returner Jojo Natson was first, and somewhat expected. Then the team did not pick up slot cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman’s option year. Then the team did not extend qualifying offers to DE Morgan Fox, OLB Josh Calloway, or DB Donte Deayon.  Finally, the team released running back Todd Gurley and OLB Clay Matthews.

After all that, the 2020 NFL Free Agency began.

If there is a plan or method to the team’s roster build so far, it’s subtle enough so that it doesn’t jump off the page at you.  And it’s that “what will they do next” heading into the 2020 NFL Draft that makes this perhaps one of the most exciting of all. The LA Rams will enter the 2020 NFL Draft with a number of question marks hovering over the team. But surprisingly, it will all fall together in the end. Let’s see what I mean as the LA Rams step up to the podium:
