Round 2 -Edge Rusher

With the 52nd pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the LA Rams select edge rusher Terrell Lewis, from the University of Alabama.

The most pressing need for the LA Rams is to draft someone who can fill the void left by an outbound free agent outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr...  The team needs a young athlete who can pressure opposing quarterbacks, and are surprised to find Alabama edge rusher has dropped into the team’s lap at 52.

Lewis is ripped, ripe, and ready for the NFL. Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing an impressive 262 pounds, he is truly a plug-and-play prospect. His three starts in ten games in 2019 for Alabama resulted in six sacks and 11.5 tackles for a loss.

He stood out despite a lack of playing time. He had just four games in 2017 and was completely lost for the 2018 season. But he had a solid 2019 season and stood out at the 2019 Senior Bowl practices.  He’s been compared to the Denver Bronco’s Von Miller, so you can bet the champagne corks pop at Bradon Staley’s home office at this selection.

The Rams need an edge rusher. And through the random luck of the draft, an ideal prospect falls to them at 52. 2020 NFL Draft is finally underway for the LA Rams, and it starts off on the right foot.
