LA Rams 2020 NFL Free Agency strategy focus upon former players

Welcome newcomers, we think
As of now, the only “non-Ram” officially added to the roster is defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. While fans will love his play, as well as that of pending free-agent signing OLB Leonard Floyd. the team has not yet made Floyd’s signing official. That hesitancy has opened the door to speculation that the Rams may have changed their mind over signing Floyd.
Defensive coordinator Brandon Staley had coached Floyd in Chicago, so there is an expectation that the Rams have a complete understanding of the player. And the Bears elected to release Floyd outright, which eliminates any impact his signing can have upon the LA Rams 2021 formula for compensatory picks.
The objective for the LA Rams this offseason was clearly about retaining as many 2019 players as possible. And so far, the team has re-signed six players from 2019 and potentially added two new faces. Is it enough for now?
I would feel much better if the Rams addressed either an edge rusher or inside linebacker position before the NFL Draft arrives. But for now, knowing how little money the Rams had to spend in free agency, this was an excellent job. It’s not feeding the multitudes with seven loaves and two fishes impressive, but it’s pretty impressive for NFL Free Agency. In fact, the LA Rams have done a fairly decent job with having so little to work with so far.
