LA Rams DT Aaron Donald and P Johnny Hekker have been named to the NFL’s 2010 All-Decade Team
It seems that if there is an NFL award announcement, one of the first players to be mentioned will be LA Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. But this time, he’s brought some teammates. Aaron Donald was voted to the NFL’s 2010 All-Decade Team. Also voted to the NFL’s All-Decade team was teammate punter Johnny Hekker. And the list also includes two former teammates, safety Eric Weddle and defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.
Aaron Donald was only one of eight unanimous selections to the list. He entered the NFL in the 2014 NFL Draft after hearing his name announced by the LA Rams as the thirteenth pick of the draft. While he has a late start to the decade, he arrived in a blaze and has never looked back.
Johnny Hekker has been a standout punter for the LA Rams since arriving in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. Hekker did not need much time to excel, earning an All-Pro designation in six consecutive NFL seasons, from 2013 through 2018.
The All-Decade Team is a 55-member assembling of the best NFL players over the past 10 years. These Players are voted on by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 48-member selection committee. To qualify for nomination, players must have been selected to a Pro Bowl, Associated Press All-Pro team or Pro Football Writers Association all-conference team at some point during the 2010 through 2019 seasons.
This is a coveted honor, which is only available at the start of a new decade. The new All-Decade team will not be named until 2030.
