Seattle Seahawks

Ramblin Fan – Based on your understanding of their team needs, how do you see the 2020 NFL Draft board lining up for them? (such as deep in their biggest need, lots of BPA talent to help, their needs do not align well with this draft)

Erik Hindenburg (DraftRite) – I think this draft lines up pretty well for the Seahawks in particular, who need to upgrade the offensive line, secondary and wide receiver group. The strength of this class at the receiver is well documented, and I have 34 with names before I write UDFA as the grade. The offensive line class is just as good, particularly at tackle.

Ramblin Fan – Out of the three NFC West rivals, How do you expect their chances will end up in 2020- better, about the same, more challenging? Of course, if you can cite a player or two for each team that they will likely land, that would be great.

Erik Hindenburg (DraftRite) – The Seattle Seahawks will always have a chance to win it all as long as Wilson is around. They are who I am leaning towards as divisional favorites as of early April. Resigning Clowney should have happened already and needs to happen prior to the draft. Adding someone like Jeff Gladney, CB TCU, could really help the defense. I expect the interior offensive line to be a priority on days 2 and 3, with names like Tyler Biadasz Wisconsin and Damien Lewis LSU presenting immediate upgrades. I am extremely curious to see what type of receiver they target, and how highly they prioritize the position.

Ramblin Fan – Since this 2020 NFL Draft process has been cut short, can you give a general assessment of how each of the NFC rivals will handle this unique scouting process leading up to the draft?

Erik Hindenburg (DraftRite) – I truly believe this is going to be a unique draft in the sense that teams simply do not have the information available that they are accustomed to. Medical questions are really going to hurt prospects in this draft. General Managers may be a little quicker to trade up for or overdraft guys they covet.

I expect all three NFC Rival teams to be active in trade calls, and I expect there to be more need-based drafting as teams will have done the most work on positions of need. BPA is already more of a myth than an actual practice, and I expect it to be tossed almost completely out after the first round this year.
