LA Rams: 2020 NFL Draft – post Cooks trade Mock Draft 7.1
By Larry Brake
LA Rams select Tyler Bass, K Georgia Southern
The Rams find their replacement for placekicker kicker Greg Zuerlein. Tyler Bass is picked in round 7 as the Rams last draft pick. Bass kicked for Georgia Southern University.
At Georgia Southern, he made 114 of 116 attempted extra points. Bass kicked 54 field goals and missed on 14 attempts. He showcased his strong kicking leg at the Senior Bowl.
Mike Anthony of the statesborohearald.com writes the following:
"Bass couldn’t have done more to help his professional stock during his week in Mobile. He popped up on various scouting social media sites during practice with talk of his power and pro potential. When the game rolled around, he was just as good, hitting on all four of his extra point attempts — from the extended professional distance – while also hitting both of his field goal attempts including a 50-yarder as the final gun sounded."
Zuerlein had a very good career in the Rams uniform. Bass has the potential to be as dependable as Zuerlein as time goes by. Let’s hope that LA scores touchdowns instead of kicking field goals.
The NFL Draft is creeping closer each day. Will the Rams make move moves before the draft day? How shocking would it be to see Aaron Donald or Jared Goff moved to ease their salary cap space troubles? They might restructure each contract but let’s see how it plays out.
