LA Rams select Jeff Gladney, CB Texas Christian University

The Rams pick Jeff Gladney as the 52nd overall section in round 2. Gladney played collegiately at Texas Christian of the Big 12 Conference. He stands 5-feet-10 weighing 191 pounds.

Gladney performed well at the NFL Combine. He ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and benched pressed 225 pounds 17 times. He vertically leaped 37.5 inches and broad jumped 124 inches. He is very athletic.

In college, he made 146 total tackles with 1.5 sacks. He played against tough elite passing teams each week during conference play. Gladney is ready to step into the Rams secondary.

The scouting website, thedraftnetwork.com, writes the following of Gladney’s skill set:

"Lightning quick footwork. Transitions are rapid and changing directions is fluid. Hips are loose and he’s a smooth operator. Sudden responses and he has tremendous balance and body control when flipping his hips. Explosive plant and drive ability in click and close situations. Excellent in soft press to crowd the release, stay square and he’s overall quite challenging for wide receivers to stack. … Calm when the ball is in the air and he does a good job of finding it, adjusting and positioning himself to disrupt at the catch point."

Expect Gladney to play Ramsey’s cornerback position. He covered top Big 12 receivers and should be able to cover NFC West receivers. Here’s the next player in the revised Rams draft.
