LA Rams wish list for the 2020 NFL Draft – Day 2 wishes and possibilities

The 2020 NFL Draft day one is in the record books. And while the Rams did not make a selection in round one on April 23rd, they did choose much earlier.

With the 20th pick in the NFL draft, the Los Angeles Rams select Jalen Ramsey, Cornerback Florida State.

I’m not sure about you guys, but I’m fairly happy with the pick. If the Rams actually picked at that spot last night, they would’ve reached a bit for a skilled player. If a wide receiver like Ceedee Lamb, Henry Ruggs, or Jerry Jeudy were available at pick number 20, the Rams brass would’ve been in a sticky place. If a highly touted prospect like cornerback Jeff Okudah fell to number 20, the Rams would’ve maybe regretted trading for Jalen Ramsey. I actually agree with the Rams trading a first-round pick for Jalen Ramsey.

Hopefully, the draft pick that was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 NFL draft will be equally satisfying. Let’s take a look at player possibilities for day two of the 2020 NFL draft. The Rams hold draft picks at positions 52, 57, 84, and 104.

With pick number 52, the Rams need help on both offense and defense. They could go the best player available and with the draft being wide receiver heavy, Les Snead and Sean McVay may draft another target for Jared Goff. WR Michael Pittman Jr. from USC is a solid option here. He’s a big-bodied receiver that can go up and get the ball. He’d perfectly compliment Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.

At pick number 57, the Rams could strengthen the offensive line. A plug-and-play lineman, such as Matt Hennessy would be perfect here. He can come in and provide depth to a unit that greatly needs it. Jared Goff gets another toy to throw to and a lineman that can keep him upright.

At pick number 84, the Rams should go defense here. Provide some much-needed juice to the defense. Willie Gay Jr. from Mississippi State or Logan Wilson from Wyoming can help bring some sure tackling and stellar ball skills to the middle of the field. With the loss of Cory Littleton, the Rams need to bring in some defenders to help out Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey on that defense.

And finally, with pick 104, the Rams could go running back here or edge rusher. Edge rusher Josh Uche from Michigan or RB J.K. Dobbins are 2 solid picks. They probably won’t be available here but if they are, the Rams will be turning in their draft cards oh so quickly.
