The LA Rams selected edge rusher, Terrell Lewis, at pick 84. Was there a better option on the board at that pick?
With the 84th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the LA Rams selected Terrell Lewis, EDGE from Alabama. Lewis will be the heir apparent to take over for outgoing free agency Dante Fowler Jr. And for all intents and purposes, he will be the right player to do so.
Was there a better player on the board or did the Rams took the right one?
Inside offensive lineman, Lloyd Cushenberry went one pick before to the Denver Broncos, so I can not list him, but my number one interior offensive lineman was still there. Tyler Biadasz from Wisconsin. And the Rams had been actively pursuing offensive linemen before the draft in their interviews.
Honestly, I would’ve gone Terrell Lewis’s way too. He is a young man who I have as a late first/early second-round potential for me In fact, he made the top 5 in his position in my defensive play list on the LA Rams Draft board.
True, the former Crimson Tide player missed the majority of his career due to injuries, but his athleticism and production are off the charts when he is healthy. And his limited number of college years of football is hardly a large enough sample to make that type of conclusion.
As stated in the mentioned article, Terrell is a perceptive player that can either bring pressure to the opposing quarterback or drop in coverage. He is also really good against the run.
There’s no reason to panic here. Head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead got the steal of the draft and still can get Biadasz later in the third round, as he is projected to fall a bit more. Things are starting to shine here, and although Super Bowls are not won in April, good teams are built, and we are on the right track.
