LA Rams 2020 NFL Draft grades: Day 2 picks
Third Round draft grades:
Pick 84 overall
Terrell Lewis EDGE rusher (Alabama).- Lewis was part of one of many Alabama golden generations. And we know Nick Saban can produce elite defensive players.
Terrell Lewis, another player in my top 5 positional rankings, could’ve been (just by looking at his play and traits) a top prospect, if not because he lost the majority of his collegiate career due to injuries. But when on the field, he just pops out of the screen. His burst is borderline elite and has good flexibility and length to go along with it. He can develop more as he did not play too much college football if healthy, and that’s a big if.
Terrell can develop into a starter player early on, and for me, he is the steal of the draft, that has yet to finish tomorrow in day 3.
Grade: A+
Pick 104 overall
Terrell Burgess safety (Utah).- The former Utah Ute is a processing machine. A very intelligent and previously-converted cornerback that plays better on the inside of the defense, but can play very good downfield football as well. His man-coverage skills are better than expected but still needs more experience at it.
Burgess is a high-motor player that only saw one season as a starter, but made the most out of it. His competitiveness id off the charts.
He can become an immediate starter if he beats out 2019 Rams third-round draft pick David Long, initially in “sub-packages” (which the Rams often use) and might rotate with Taylor Rapp at safety, as Rapp has almost a full year of playing both positions.
A depth/need pick that could help the defense not resent the departure of Nickell Robey-Coleman and help continue the growth of the unit.
