The LA Rams might keep 3 quarterbacks on their 2020 roster. Will Josh Love nab a roster spot

San Jose State rookie Josh Love is one of four LA Rams quarterbacks fighting for a spot on the 2020 roster. Since the Rams are going with a younger group, look for the team to carry three quarterbacks into the regular season for insurance against injuries. Starting QB Jared Goff has a roster spot but the other two are up for the taking.

Backup QB John Wolford was the practice squad quarterback in 2019. Meanwhile, rookie QB Bryce Perkins was playing college football in Virginia. You can expect Love to battle for a spot very tenaciously.

6-foot-2 205-pound Love played collegiately at San Jose State. He completed 578 passes for 7206 yards with 43 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. Love played in 41 games while starting 26 games throughout his four years in college.

He was not offered a scholarship by San Jose State. Love walked on a redshirted his freshman season of 2015. He always believed in his ability to play quarterback when others were not convinced.

Dustin Dorsey of abc7news.com reports the following:

"In 2015 Josh Love joined the Spartans as a walk-on Quarterback. Four years later, he leaves as one of the best to ever throw on the blue and gold of San Jose State … “I absolutely believe in Josh Love,” SJSU Football Head Coach Brent Brennan said. “He’s a fantastic young man and what a great player. I think that he’s one of those guys that you have to believe in because he found a way to persevere and get better every year.”"

Love stands 6-feet-2 weighing 205 pounds. Physically, he is a little bigger than Wolford but smaller than Perkins. Perhaps, Love has more motivation to succeed. He was lauded as one of the sleepers for the 2020 NFL Draft by several scouting reports.

He did not receive an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl or Senior Bowl. Love did not participate in the NFL Combine in February. The Rams scouting department saw something in his game films.
