Tampa Brady Buccaneers
The Rams return to Monday Night on the road against the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. on November 23, 2020, at 5:15 pm PT. That game just after a well-timed BYE week and is sandwiched between a grueling home contest against the Seattle Seahawks and a repeat home contest against the visiting 49ers, eager to avenge an earlier season loss. The Buccaneers simply are the wrong team at the wrong time and may catch the Rams focused upon division rivals. I don’t like the setup for the Rams in this one. An east coast game that means more to televised audiences than to their chances to return to the playoffs. I hate to concede, but I believe this is a trap game from which the Rams cannot escape. The Rams take the L here.
The Rams’ final prime time contest is hosting the always-dangerous New England Patriots on a short week on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 5:20 pm PT. By the time this game is played, both the Rams and Patriots will have a very good view of their path to the post-season. In this one, the buzz leading up to the game is how much better both teams are than their preseason predictions. However, short weeks will favor home times, and this one favors the Rams. The Rams follow the script and win this one.
Primetime games have been kind to the LA Rams, and 2020 will continue the streak. A 4-1 record in front of a nationally televised audience will position the Rams for post-season contention. Don’t be fooled, primetime games are not awarded to teams based on a good draft class. They are assigned to the teams that television networks believe will be the most competitive game on that week. The Rams were assigned the most number of primetime games for good reason.
They’ll be that good. Follow the money.
