LA Rams news: 2019 offensive line woes have a 2020 silver lining

Healthy players
Right now the biggest question mark about the Rams’ offensive line is their health. Just how quickly and fully will those players heal and grow from last year’s devastating injuries? Well, that depends on the rehab schedule, and how well each player responds to that rehab. All of that rehabilitation process was shaken a bit by the impact of the COVID-19, and the countermeasures implemented by the NFL to ensure safety for everyone.
Injured players are particularly vulnerable now, as rehabbing from injuries needs a specific timetable to ensure that players are not only healthy but have reworked back into playing strength safely. That timetable has directed amounts of supervised exercise, demonstrated benchmarks of strength and range of motion, and pain/discomfort thresholds.
The first player in the NFL to report contracting COVID-19 was rehabbing center Brian Allen. While he has recovered 100 percent from his coronavirus affliction, there is no official commentary as to the impact caused to his rehab or recovery.
All told, the Rams have their entire 2019 starters in rehab at some degree or level. Is that a bad thing? Well, this year may be an exception. Injured players have scheduled access to the team’s facility and staff to allow for the proper post-injury treatment to take place. That means at least five of the Rams offensive line have continued access to the staff as they prepare for the new NFL season. The LA Rams offensive line players were damaged in 2019, but not disposable.
