Time to embrace the LA Rams’ perfect imperfections
By Bret Stuter
The LA Rams are not a perfectly managed NFL team. But to be honest, the team’s fans truly enjoy the team’s perfect imperfections, and rightfully so
The LA Rams fight an uphill battle every season. Whether it’s a media-driven east coast bias, a bit of pushback by established team fanbases against the Rams sudden bursting into the playoff scene with the hire of young head coach Sean McVay, or simply a bit of delight in cheering for the decline of a good NFL team, the Rams have more than their fair share of naysayers.
No other team in the NFL could enter the 2020 NFL season with a pair of 1000 yard receivers, an All-Pro defensive lineman, and an elite shutdown cornerback, and be projected to finish 6-10 with a straight face. Since the LA Rams hired head coach Sean McVay, the team has not suffered a losing season. Despite so many rationalized reasons given in the public forum, no reason is very compelling evidence that “this is the year” for the floor to collapse under the Rams’ feet.
That hasn’t stopped many from lining up to declare the LA Rams hopes for competing in the 2020 NFL Playoffs DOA – dead on arrival. And the momentum is gaining with each new NFL 2020 season projection. It’s now quite vogue to discuss the LA Rams among the NFL teams picking quite early in the 20201 NFL Draft. And I’m quite okay with that.
I’ve always been an advocate of proving it on the football field anyway. And when it comes to talking, the LA Rams have done their best boasting when playing football.
