LA Rams: Ranking NFC West QBs for fantasy football draft
By Larry Brake
Select Jared Goff over Kyler Murray
The Arizona Cardinals made a change in head coaches for the 2019 season. New head coach Kliff Kingsbury drafted his quarterback as the first overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Rookie Kyler Murray went on to start every game for the Cardinals last season.
After winning the Heisman Trophy, Arizona saw that Murray was the guy to transform their offense to the air raid attack. The pass-happy offense is a far cry from what Arizona fans had seen in recent years. The rookie quarterback had a decent season.
Last season, he completed 349 passes for 3,722 yards with 20 touchdowns. His statistical numbers suggest that he had an average season. Let’s compare those numbers to those of Rams quarterback Jared Goff.
Goff superior
Goff completed 394 passes for 4,638 yards with 22 touchdowns. He had more passing yards and a couple of more touchdown passes than what Murray was able to do. You can do the math to see how each quarterback would score points in your league.
To be fair, Arizona added another weapon to their receiving corps. They obtained former Houston Texan wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this offseason from the Houston Texans. Time will tell whether that move will help Murray rise in the quarterback rankings in 2020. As of now, Goff is the better selection in your draft.
Here is the next NFC West quarterback to compare to Goff.
