A way-too-early LA Rams starter projections for the 2020 season

The NFL season is still a couple of months away, and with COVID-19 restrictions still in effect on teams, this appears to be the perfect time to project the starting lineup for the LA Rams 2020 NFL season. Is it rather early? Of course. But there is no time like the present.

These projections will include more than 11 players on each side of the ball. The reason for that is simply that there are different personnel packages in football, and this article will project starters for the majority of these packages. And after putting this projection out there, we’ll review it and revise it as the need arises.

Contributing factors

There are many factors impacting these player projections.  While the most obvious is talent, there is also the matter of salary, experience level, scheme fit, familiarity with the Rams, and familiarity with the coaching staff.  Obviously, a lot can happen from now until the season starts. Players can perform better than expected. They can also get injured meaning the next man is up.

Of course, some younger players will need to prove they are capable of handling a starting role on a consistent basis. While they will eventually earn that starting role, it’s more likely that many will begin the season by watching veterans from the bench. Don’t despair. Their time will come.
