Way too early LA Rams 2020 starter projections
Defensive Lineup
The defense may be just as difficult to project in terms of sub-packages, but the base 3-4 should be straightforward.
ILB1: Kenny Young
ILB2: Micah Kiser
EDGE: Leonard Floyd
EDGE: Samson Ebukam
DE1: Aaron Donald
DT2: A’Shawn Robinson
DE2: Michael Brockers
LCB: Jalen Ramsey
RCB: Troy Hill
SCB: Terrell Burgess
CB4: David Long
FS/SS: John Johnson III
FS/SS: Taylor Rapp
Initial logic
For the starting linebackers, the Rams traded for Kenny Young. He still needs to earn the right to start, but the Rams traded for him as part of the Marcus Peters deal, anticipating 2020’s need for a starter. As for the other linebacker spot, I have Micah Kiser. Kiser is the longest-tenured inside linebacker on the team only at 3 years. He also seemed to be the favorite to start last season until a preseason put him on IR.
At the edge, the Rams signed OLB Leonard Floyd to a $10 million one-0year deal which should cement him as a starter. for the other side, I project veteran Samson Ebukam. Ebukam is on his fourth year in the league and that experience should propel him to a week one start over Terrell Lewis to the disappointment of some fans. However, I do believe Lewis will get the starting snaps by the end of the season.
