LA Rams: Ranking NFC West WRs for fantasy football draft
By Larry Brake
The Ageless One is a very productive receiver
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a truly generational talent. Expect him to join the list as a first-time ballot inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, when and if he retires. Fitzgerald is still dangerous at age 37 as he was at age 21 as a rookie.
In his career, he has caught 1378 passes for 17,083 yards with 120 touchdowns. He averages 12.4 yards per reception. Only Jerry Rice has caught more passes for more yards than Fitzgerald.
Last season, Fitzgerald caught 75 passes for 804 yards with 4 touchdowns. At age 36, he averaged 10.7 yards per catch. Most of all, he caught 68.8% of the passes thrown to him.
More weapons
Arizona will be in the second year of the Air Raid offense under Kliff Kingsbury. Quarterback Kyler Murray will be under center for his second year, as well. Also, they acquired an outstanding wide receiver named DeAndre Hopkins in March.
Hopkins is going to deal with a learning curve with his new offense. He is one of the league’s best receivers but will he mesh with Murray? He put up big numbers last season in Houston.
Hopkins caught 104 passes for 1165 yards with 7 touchdowns. He averaged 11.2 yards per catch. Hopkins caught 69.3% of the passes thrown his way.
Arizona is third because of their young quarterback. Will he have a good season or experience the proverbial sophomore slump? On to the next groupings rank.
