Team 9 – Green Bay Packers (13-3)

The Green Bay Packers are a very good team. But they failed to draft much help on offense, and they drafted Aaron Rodgers’ replacement a year too early. Can a draft ruin the locker room for a team? I’m not sure if it can, but the Packers morale is certainly being tested.

2019 summary

The Packers had an incredible season in 2019, mainly because the offense worked when the defense struggled, and the defense worked when the offense struggled. But the offense needs more weapons at the receiver position and settled for a rookie running back plus a tight end.

Previous: 3rd. Green Bay Packers. 9. team. 49. . 13-3

Players lost

The Packers lost ILB Blake Martinez, RT Bryan Bulaga, TE Jimmy Graham, OLB Kyler Fackrell, ILB B.J. Goodson, and WR Geronimo Allison, plus seven players who remain unsigned.

Players added

The team added ILB Christian Kirksey, OT Ricky Wagner, WR Devin Funchess, QB Jordan Love, RB A.J. Dillon, G Jon Runyan, C Jake Hanson, and TE Josiah Deguara.

2020 outlook

The Green Bay Packers could not get past the San Francisco 49ers in two attempts in 2019.  After the 2020 offseason, I fear that the Packers experienced a backslide of sorts. QB Love in round one was a shocking use of a pick that could have netted the team a true playmaker on either offense or defense. The challenge of that pick will either focus this team more than ever or trigger a bit of a letdown in 2020.  A playoff team? Yes. But not 13-3.
