4 free agent offensive linemen to get LA Rams to NFL Playoffs
By Bret Stuter
G Warford
Offensive guard Larry Warford is a player that many teams have or are kicking the tires on. The LA Rams should be doing so as well. After all, the Rams have invested in getting the running game back on track. But doing so means more than just adding a fresh pair of legs in the draft. It means placing blockers into the offensive line who can move defensive linemen out of the way. Warford does that in his sleep.
We identified Warford as a player who could help the Rams offensive line before. He remains unsigned. So far, the cost of veterans has come in far lower than many expected. Warford could be another cents-on-the-dollar signing. That’s why the Rams should be in contact with his agent now.
Peak performance
Warford is at his NFL peak. Just 29 years old and seven years of NFL experience makes Warford a solution for the Rams offensive line for several years. Adding him to the Rams offensive front would be a nice coup for the besieged Rams front office. It would also be a huge boost to the potential for the Rams running game. A repaired offensive line would allow the Rams to put four-wide receiver sets into the offensive playbook.
Warford is not superman. He is only a good addition to the roster at the right price. Right now the market price for veterans is dropping drastically. If the Rams can structure a low-guarantee contract loaded with incentives, why not do so?
