LA Rams could hire Eric Bieniemy

The LA Rams could turn to Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy as their new head coach. Bieniemy is currently the offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. He would be an excellent choice.

Bieniemy played college football at the University of Colorado. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1991. He played running back for nine NFL seasons with three different teams.

He began his coaching career in 2000 in Colorado. Bieniemy moved to UCLA in 2003. For the next seven seasons, he coached five years as the Minnesota Vikings running back coach. Things changed in 2011.

Offensive coordinator extraordinaire

Bieniemy became the offensive coordinator at Colorado for two seasons. Andy Reid hired him as the running backs coach in 2013. He has been the Chiefs offensive coordinator since 2018.

He replaced Matt Nagy, who left to become the Chicago Bears, head coach. His feel for the game was the blueprint for the championship season of 2019. The time is right for Bieniemy to move up into a head coaching position. In fact, many were surprised he was not promoted in 2020.

Let’s hope that Bieniemy would be given the opportunity to right the ship for the Rams. Often times, NFL teams recycle the same faces to different places. Most of all, Bieniemy runs the type of offense that Rams fans would love to watch each game.
