The WR “Pack” (2 of 5)

Now we come to the “Pack” of the LA Rams wide receivers. These are the five players who are incredibly talented, but who are not yet familiar with the LA Rams coaches, and in return, the Rams coaches are just guessing at this point about the talents and potential of these five players. They are all rookies, and as such will all have a great deal of work ahead of them.  But the truth of the matter is that two will likely be carried on the 53-man roster, with up to two ending up on the practice squad.  Of course, that will be affected by who shines on special teams as well.

9- The first receiver is Earnest Edwards. He hails from the seldom cited University of Maine and stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 175-pounds. At that size, the first question becomes how quickly can he bulk up to the mid 180+ pound range? Of course, as soon as you see the video of this young man, his confidence and positive nature makes all but the staunchest skeptics hesitate to see his potential. NFL Mocks writer Ian Higgins did a remarkable article about Earnest Edwards, comparing him to Tyreek Hill or Tavon Austin.

8- The next receiver is the local favorite, Cal-Poly senior JJ Koskie. Koskie stands a respectable 6-foot-1 and weighs 195 pounds. Don’t let the backyard setting fool you, Koskie is most definitely NFL worthy, racking up 121 receptions for 2,311 and 18 touchdowns over his 44 game career.  He may not stand out with circus catches, but he also makes few mistakes. He is a tactician and solid route runner who can create separation, catch any ball in his vicinity, and move the chains.
