The LA Rams may be appearing on HBO Hard Knocks: LA at the worst of times. After all, just how many variables can any organization truly control, and this is just one more set of them to add to the pressure cooker.  On the other hand, the Rams may be appearing at the best of times.

The team’s fanbase has been quarantined, cut off from the constant streaming of news about familiar faces and new additions with the absence of OTAs, while everyone is so ready and eager to get back to the game they love – football.  This buoys everyone’s spirits. A moment of connection to the team, the players, and the coaches to restore a compass point of normalcy to help navigate the bizarre world we now must navigate.

What a ride so far!

Life comes at you fast. But either we’ve slowed down, or it has picked up the pace this year. 2020 has been a blur, the advent of a new era so fast-paced that looking back on the first seven months feels like it has been more dream than reality. For the LA Rams, the pace is running many times faster. As quickly as the roster has changed, the team has had to adapt. As rapidly as the NFL has changed rules, the team has had to implement them. And now, here comes HBO Hard Knocks: LA!

Now, the white water is behind them. The team enters the calmer waters of their training camp. While that may seem more stressful, it’s actually the part of the journey that is more familiar. Preparing for the unknown is receding. Acting in the familiar begins
