Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers landed quarterback Tom Brady. Now they must build an impenetrable wall around him to keep him upright into his advanced QB years. If you think that’s easy, it’s not. Brady is a good quarterback, but he is getting a bit long in the tooth and is not nearly as mobile as the Buccaneers former quarterback Jameis Winston.   That means the Buccaneers offensive line needs to be one of the best in the NFL for their team to have a realistic chance at the NFL playoffs.

And you can bet NFL teams know that the trick to beating Brady is getting to him. That means the Buccaneers will face a more intense pass rush then in previous seasons with the more-mobile quarterback Jameis Winston.

Let’s make a deal!

Tampa Bay likely already knows this. If they do not, then the first few games will be painful viewing.  So it makes sense for the Buccaneers to load up on offensive tackles. particularly in the 2020 NFL season when the roster can be subjected to players moving to the COVID-19/Reserve roster overnight. Florida, like southern California, is going to be one of the most difficult areas to maintain the NFL bubble all season.  As such, the Bucs will need to have extra depth at critical positions.

For a conditional third-round pick, the Buccaneers could obtain LA Rams offensive tackle Bobby Evans, a player who has starting experience and has a great upside.  The Rams will likely carry Joseph Noteboom, Jamil Demby, with the final roster spot either Brian Allen or Bobby Evans.  Trading Evans will give the Rams a solid draft pick for 2021, plus a bit of salary cap relief. When the Rams cut players for the 53-man roster, the team will likely be parting ways with a handful of offensive linemen.  Negotiating trades now turns nothing into something.
