Drew Stanton (Lions, Cardinals, Browns)

If the Rams want someone who can be a mentor and advisor on the team, and press into service if needed, Drew Stanton is their guy. The experienced back-up veteran has spent his entire career as a back-up and mentor, most recently the back-up quarterback behind Baker Mayfield in Cleveland.

Stanton has backed up players like Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.  Not only has he served to support the offense if the starter goes down, but he has also served as a mentor and coach as well as a backup on his previous teams.

Stanton’s skill set is much like Cody Kessler, although his football IQ is unmistakably better. His arm strength limits his on-field impact, but his intelligence and makes him a formidable and helpful back-up. If the Rams want someone to help develop John Wolford or Bryce Perkins on the side, this is the way to go.
