Rookie wide receiver
LA Rams rookie wide receiver Van Jefferson was drafted by the team with the 57th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft as an investment into the future. But it seems that the future is now for the young receiver from the University of Florida. While he did not arrive at the LA Rams with a higher depth role than the second-string, his expertise was far better on the field than anyone else in the second-string ranks.
He earned a promotion. Not by his off-field knowledge of the playbook. He executed flawlessly on the field.
Van Jefferson versus the twos is no contest. This rookie is a pro.

More frequent reps against Ramsey & Co. can’t be far away.
So he was moved to the Rams starters.
Better than the brochure
Once there, he was solid competition for the Rams star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, While not trying to overblow training camp and practice, Ramsey is one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. While we don’t have overwhelming evidence of how the competition played out, we do know that Van Jefferson held his own.
What about his ability to score? Well, we have this touchdown thrown by backup quarterback John Wolford.

Jefferson is going to get offensive snaps this season. Enough to haul in 1,000+ yards? Perhaps. But let him show the NFL.
