You never know the value of a coaching hire until the moment it makes sense. RB coach Thomas Brown is an excellent hire by the Rams.  At a time when the NFL Draft was loaded with talent, but no direct means of meeting players, signing a college position coach to the Rams was a wise move.

But perhaps more than a college football perspective, Coach Brown adds life perspective. Life perspective that is valuable to share with players and coaches dismayed by recent events

Words can add both clarity and inspiration to persons lost in a fog of current events.

Inspiring words

Coach Brown adds clarity and inspiration. Right now, current events have LA Rams coaches and players discouraged and disheartened. Their families are even frightened now. Wherever we fall in our beliefs, not one of us believes that fear and disappointment is our goal. One community, one team, all deserving of the same security and freedom.

I don’t have the answers, but I believe it will be found by dialogue over tough topics.  I believe it will come in the form of a better world for our children. Each generation carries progress a bit further. Now, progress must be made once more.  The LA Rams are one of the most socially active organizations in the NFL. And as such, they will find a way to turn recent events into positive action.
