LA Rams News: Team overshoots roster cuts to 52, looking to add ILB off waivers

The LA Rams are guilty of overachieving.  You see, the team needed to clear just ten roster spots today by the 1:00 pm PT deadline. Instead, the Rams have overshot the mark and have landed at 52 players for now.  All speculation is over for now.  While the Rams front office and coaching staff restacks the team needs, we now have the list of cuts.

There are absolutely some surprises. The Rams are currently at three inside linebackers, a position that the Rams historically carry four into the season.  The team went heavy at the offensive line position, carrying ten on the 53-man roster, including both Coleman Shelton and Brian Allen. And the team chose undrafted rookie Eric Banks over returning veteran Marquise Copeland on the defensive line.

Today’s cuts

The Rams roster reductions were made official  with the following announcement today:

DT Marquise Copeland
DB Donte Deayon
DT Michael Hoecht
LB Clay Johnston
LB Natrez Patrick
QB Bryce Perkins
LB Christian Rozeboom
DE Jonah Williams

The team waived injured Justin Lawler, and have placed Travin Howard on Injured reserve and A’Shawn Robinson on the reserve/non-football injury list.
