LA Rams believe free agent LB Justin Hollins could be the missing piece

The LA Rams stated that they would be working the NFL waivers to find a player to fill their final roster spot. That search ended today, but not in the way many expected it to. The Rams searched the waiver lists of two teams – the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears. In the end, the search ended less than 24 hours after it began. The Rams have found their final player.

The Rams are claiming outside linebacker Justin Hollins off waivers. He played for the Denver Broncos in 2019 and was coached there by defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.

Of course, everything about the signing was predictable. He hails from the Denver Broncos. He is relatively inexpensive, as he was a 2019 fifth-round pick.

ILB? Check

So the only final question is this: Can he play at the inside linebacker position? Yes and then some.

While he will be onboarding, he may not be up to speed in time to play in the season opener. That’s okay, as he will no doubt provide the Rams with some quality snaps down the road. The Rams will no doubt have a place for him on the defense as soon as he is ready.  Will that be an instant promotion to start? Only when he is ready.

Next. About the LA Rams vacant roster spot, the team has a plan. dark

The Rams roster is now at 53. They’ll likely turn their attention to the practice squad now.
