V  – Brockers

Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers are two players who love the game of football, and they love playing side by side. They’ve done so since Donald was drafted by the Rams in the 2014 NFL Draft.  Brockers was that third-year veteran who welcomed Donald to the team.  Seven years later, they continue to line up side-by-side, rushing the quarterback and halting running backs dead in their tracks.

Brockers played 53 defensive snaps against the Cowboys.  During that time, he recorded two tackles and one quarterback sack. The most sacks Brockers has ever recorded in a single NFL season alongside teammate Donald is just 4.5 sacks. Is Brockers about to burst through that ceiling? Well, he could move much closer to it this week.

Eagles vulnerable to pass rush

We know that Wentz was very inaccurate in week one.  He made bad throws in week one at a rate of 31 percent. That resulted in just two out of every three pass attempts made were on target.  The Eagles will try to fix that by slowing Wentz down and forcing him to make better reads.  Good luck with that, as the Rams defense is nothing like the Eagles will face all season.

Confusion in the pocket will delay passes being made. Wentz wants to eliminate interceptions, so he’ll take the sack.  From our perspective, that feeds opportunity to the Rams veteran defensive lineman Michael Brockers.  It was easy to pick out in game one. Linemen look for Aaron Donald and seem to forget other players. Brockers is capable of taking full advantage when that happens this Sunday.
