III – Fox
Defensive end Morgan Fox played a great game.in week one. In 23 defensive snaps, he made three tackles. While he only saw action on 32 percent of the defensive snaps, his presence allowed the team to give breathers to the starting front three. The only problem with that role? Fox is not in there as an orange pylon placeholder.
Fox brings some spark to the Rams defense. He is a 6-foot-3 275-pound defensive end who, like much of the Rams defensive players, seems to have subscribed to teammate Aaron Donald’s workout videos. This guy is chiseled, and it showed up in game one. Where the ball was, he was.
Crazy like a Fox
Now Fox has a new assignment. He will face the same Eagles line that allowed eight sacks in the opener by seven different players. Was that offensive line rust? The inability to see any solid video footage to prepare from? Or were the Redskins just indomitable? I think it’s a combination of all three, but the Rams cannot depend upon similar circumstances this week.
Morgan Fox won’t look for any gifts. He is a strong physical presence at the defensive end and he has plenty of agility to stunt upfront but plenty of power to win at the point of attack. The Eagles will have all eyes on Aaron Donald, worrying about where he is on practically every play. That opens the door for Fox to get a sack or two.
