II -Ebukam
The Philadelphia Eagles struggled to block guys off the edge in week one. Yes, Lane Johnson is back. But he is just one offensive lineman. And he’s still playing on a sore ankle. The other offensive tackle, Jason Peters, is playing on a sore knee. When healthy, they are both strong offensive linemen. But neither are healthy right now.
Ebukam played his first full start of 2020 and saw action on 53 defensive snaps. While he did not get any sacks, he did account for four tackles in game one. But he is just getting warmed up. While the Eagles will certainly attempt to plug the holes in their blocking schemes, they cannot fix everything in one week’s time.
Wentz was wobbly in his first start
Carson Wentz was his own worst enemy in game one. With a makeshift offensive line, he held onto the ball far too long. The Washington football team gave him too much to process at times, and he reacted by not reacting. And now, here comes Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.
Interesting nugget from @NextGenStats. Wentz held the ball too much last week. Need more built-in layups. pic.twitter.com/0aTUpqrjP5

The Rams disguise everything in the secondary. That means that while Wentz will try to speed up his passing, he will have a much tougher time of doing it. If Wentz throws prematurely, the Rams will have great opportunities to intercept the ball. If he holds the ball too long, here comes DE Morgan Fox for a sack. If he throws the ball away, the Rams hold the Eagles to three-and-out and get the ball back. I think Wentz tries heroics by holding onto the ball, and Fox gets sacks.
