DE Fox

Morgan Fox is one of those players who make the most out of his opportunities. He is always chipping away, piling up more tackles, and taking down quarterbacks for sacks when you least expect it. As the season progresses, his steady reliable performance continues to pile up positive production until you get to a point where you realize just how steady he’s been all year.

Fox won’t suddenly burst into NFL highlight films. But he could put up some good numbers. Despite drawing the Eagles right guard Isaac Seumato, Fox has plenty of power to hold his ground on the running game, and he has a twitchy move that will put him into the path of a shuffling Wentz.

Fox on the run

His pace against the Dallas Cowboys was pretty impressive. Fox will hope to continue that pace by putting up tackles, quarterback pressures, and hopefully this week, some sacks. The more productive he is, the more defensive snaps he’ll see. And Staley is a huge promoter of rapid rotations of the team’s defensive front. Defensive linemen are asked to do a lot in this defense and need plenty of breaks to ensure they remain fresh.

The Eagles will be very interested in establishing some semblance of a running game this week, particularly when Aaron Donald is off the field. Fox is a pretty good run defender and will have a say about how well the Eagles do in their running game. Fox is not in the rest starters. He’s in to make plays. And he will.
