RB Henderson

The LA Rams featured running backs Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown in the opener. Somehow, Darrell Henderson was seldom used.  That could change very very easily this week, and I think it does. After all, the Rams have verbally committed to a committee at running back, and so far Henderson remains in the Rams on-deck circle.

The Rams have been ultra-cautious with Henderson for good reason. He is more than a change-of-pace running back in this Rams offense. His role will eventually evolve. He can play running back, receiving back, slot receiver, kick returner, and practically any role that involves getting the ball into a player’s hands.

light. Also. LA Rams contend with a much stronger Philadelphia Eagles in week 2

Eagles will never see Henderson coming

The LA Rams have as many as four receivers, two tight ends, and two running backs that the Philadelphia Eagles must plan to stop.  After all of that, the Eagles are pretty saturated. That’s where Henderson becomes even more dangerous. If the Rams let him play a couple of offensive snaps in the backfield and see how the Eagles defend him, they will know how seriously the Eagles defense is prepared to stop him.

Once the Rams offense gets a read, the fun begins. Send Henderson into motion.  Line up both tight ends on one side, and place him in an H-Back position behind them for a mini-screen.  Bunch receivers and set him among them with a quick out route. Even sending him on a wheel route.  The Rams offense must continue to run at a fast tempo, and Henderson is a big part of that.
