After the first half of confusion, can the LA Rams make enough sense of this one to pull out a win?

The LA Rams have been able to shut down Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs. The Rams have been able to get running back Darrell Henderson unleashed for 68 first-half yards. And they have even been able to hold Bills quarterback Josh Allen to 11 yards rushing.   And yet, a glance at the scoreboard tells you everything that you want to know.  LA Rams 3 Buffalo Bills 21

This is the second of two road games for the Rams, and the Rams look every bit the part of a team trying to wake up. It certainly hasn’t helped this defense that rookie Jordan Fuller is out with a shoulder injury and Taylor Rapp is in.  The Bills have been getting a lot of big plays by making Troy Hill look bad, but there is a lot of thought that he was looking for help.

Rapp taking the rap?

Last year, Rapp made several mental errors about not picking up a receiver. It appears that he may be picking up where he left off last year. and that’s certainly not a good thing.  The defense has not been very effective so far. Despite shutting down Allen, they have allowed him to pass for two touchdowns without a sack nor an interception.  And the Bills are doing something they haven’t done yet, run a balanced offense with 14 pass plays and 15 running plays.

The LA Rams have been excellent at coming out in the second half and taking over the game so far in two previous appearances. This one may be too much of a lead for the Bills to claim a win. But even if the Rams fall short, they must show a spark of getting back into this game.  Falling to 2-1 will not be the worst event for the LA Rams. But it will drop the Rams out of first place in the NFC West, right down to the basement. And that is where the prognosticators have predicted the Rams all along.
