5 free agency ILBs to help LA Rams endure full season

Option 2
Darron Lee is a fourth option for the LA Rams and is one of the best inside linebackers available in free agency now. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 232-pounds, this four-year veteran has played in 56 games over the past four seasons and started in 38 of them. After three years with the New York Jets, he played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
Lee is just 25 years old and has served out a four-game suspension by the NFL. We had identified him as a potential edge rusher for the Rams, and he could help the team in that capacity as well. Since the Rams have a need at both positions, Lee would be an excellent choice as a versatile player who can contribute on defense and on special teams.
Don’t pass up his pass defense
When Lee was starting for the New York Jets defense, he was not just a great overall defender, but he intercepted three passes, including one for a touchdown, while being targetted 52 times. Overall, he allowed just 68 percent of the passes targetting him to find their mark. Since he has skills at both inside and outside linebacker, he could add some tricks to the already deceptive Rams defense.
The Rams are getting squeezed at the inside linebacker position, and need some options now. Even with players on the practice squad, the Rams need experienced help. Lee has that, has good production on the field, and would be a nice signing to a defense in need of depth.
