LA Rams News: Roster shuffling includes promoting DB Hughes to the 53-man roster and re-signing DL Banks to the team’s practice squad

In a bit of LA Rams News: The team undertook some roster shuffling after placing safety Jordan Fuller on Injured Reserve. The latest moves included promoting DB Hughes to the 53-man roster and re-signing DL Banks to the team’s practice squad. The LA Rams needed to make these subsequent moves yesterday after assigning safety rookie Jordan Fuller to Injured Reserve (3 weeks) in order to fill their roster vacancies.

The team filled his roster spot by calling up defensive back Juju Hughes from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. That created a hole in the team’s practice squad, which the Rams filled by signing former DT Eric Banks to the practice squad.

Here is the official report from the LA Rams:

And here is how it has all impacted the LA Rams rosters.

Domino effect

Rookie safety Jordan Fuller moved to IR. Rookie outside linebacker moved off IR to the 53 man roster. Undrafted rookie defensive tackle Eric Banks was waived from the 53-man roster to clear waivers and has now been signed to the team’s practice squad.

Keep in mind that Hughes was activated for game four when the LA Rams faced the New York Giants. In that game, he played on special teams and recorded one tackle. Similarly, Fuller’s absence forces the Rams to address the ripple effect of duties. Fuller’s role was taken over by Taylor Rapp and Terrell Burgess. As they took on Fuller’s duties, other players had to step up and take on their duties.

dark. Next. LA Rams offense swarms defenses, and is deceptively good

The Rams will most certainly miss Fuller’s precision and physicality in the secondary. He has already proven to be instrumental in helping this defense to play at peak performance. Now that responsibility will fall upon other players.
