We still are asking who’s that?

For the game, Samuel was six receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown. For his young career, he is 13 of 17 for 115 yards and one touchdown. He had a good game, yes. But who is really kidding who here? In three games against the LA Rams, he’s been just okay.  Sure he just had a good 66-yard outing with a touchdown.

While the season is six games old, Deebo Samuel has only played in three games this year.  So surely he’s at 300 yards or better so far, right? Well not exactly. He is only up to 120 yards this season, averaging just 40 yards per game.  And he is only catching 64 percent of the balls thrown his way.  In short, tap the brakes on the “How dare you to not recognize my name, dolt!”  reaction, Deebo Samuel.

No Kittle by a long shot

Defenses plan for the 49ers tight end, Geoge Kittle. Defenses plan for the 49ers running back Raheem Mostert. But no defense plans for Deebo Samuel, period.  Why should they? He’s not going to beat teams on his own. It’s clear that the 49ers passing game features tight end, George Kittle.

Next. LA Rams now know that there is plenty of work to do. dark

Samuel has had three 100 yard games in his entire NFL career. Twice he caught over 100 yards against the Seattle Seahawks. Once he caught over 100 yards against the Arizona Cardinals.  While he has played for the 49ers team that has won the last three games against the LA Rams, he only just made a blip on the radar scope in terms of helping the 49ers do so.   So whine away, Deebo.  Until you make a name for yourself in the NFL, you will remain among the “who’s that?” crowd.
