It was fun, but kicker Sam Sloman needs to go

Rookie Sam Sloman was fun, making a few crucial kicks and keeping the Rams in games over the first few games of 2020. However, those times are over. Sloman has now missed three extra points in the first six games of the season, putting him on pace to miss five more this season.

Sloman was the 248th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. His career at Miami (Ohio) was a good one, showing a strong and accurate leg. He scored 259 points in college in his three years as a full-time kicker.

You can count on Sloman, to miss one

However, the misses have been terrible. He missed a chip shot field goal against the Dallas Cowboys in week one, an extra point against the Philadelphia Eagles in week two, and another extra point attempt against the Washington Football Team last week. Now, another one against the 49ers, and the Rams have to be running out of patience. Fans most certainly are.

And others too.

Sloman, to his credit, is seven of nine field-goal attempts this season. There just has to be someone available who will hit extra points more consistently.
