LA Rams mock draft 1.0: 2021 NFL Draft restocks the roster

Round 3 (comp)
Round 3 – pick 100. With the 100th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select Dimitri Moore, linebacker, from Vanderbilt. After the LA Rams have failed to draft a linebacker to help anchor their defense, they have no choice in 2021 but to aim for a contributor. And yes, they can find a good one in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Moore is an ideal size for the LA Rams defense, standing 6-foot-3 and already weighing 230 pounds. While he is still maturing, he has already displayed that rugged enforcer in the middle very similar to that of Rams’ current inside linebacker Micah Kiser. But he has a nice complement of skill sets, as he can square up and stop a runner cold in his tracks, but can stand up for impressive pass defense as well.
Plus and minus
More is still young, and as such is still adding muscle and still refining his play. As such, he can get entangled with offensive linemen and struggle to clear in time to make the play. While he certainly can tackle and defend passes, he is still a bit raw in developing the ability to get to the quarterback.
Moore is a large linebacker who has serious potential to play as one of the NFL’s best someday. He is a three-down backer, plays the ball runner well, has very good tackling techniques. He has a good range, and he plays bouncy. That is, he is leaning up and forward, seldom caught off-guard or on his heels. Behind the likes of Aaron Donald, he could develop very quickly.
