ILB Ogletree

The LA Rams are very familiar with Alec Ogletree, who was a great locker room presence before the team traded him to the NY Giants as a minor salary dump in 2018. Ogletree is an ideal player to sign out of NFL Free Agency if simply for the fact that he is so familiar with the team, players, and coaching staff.

As Bradham mentioned earlier, we had lobbied for Alec Ogletree before. In fact, with the lack of depth at the position, and Ogletree’s history, the Giants release of Ogletree seemed like an opportune time to re-sign him to the roster in case of an emergency. Right now, the Rams are down to just two healthy inside linebackers. It’s time to break the glass and pull down on the handle hard.

The rain is here

Ogletree is another versatile veteran linebacker who would be a valuable addition to the Rams defense. A veteran of eight seasons, Ogletree is adept enough at run defense and pass coverage to take part in defensive snaps at a minimum. And the Rams, now down to two healthy linebackers in Kenny Young and Troy Reeder, would be wise to spread the workload.

The Rams cannot save up for a rainy day. The rain has arrived, and the Rams need to do something now. Of course, there are those who won’t comprehend the urgency here and will give a routine thumbs down to all options currently available in NFL Free Agency. But the Rams are out of time, and options. Now let’s examine some new players not mentioned before.
