10 reasons to believe LA Rams defense makes the difference this year

X – Rams entire roster contributes
The LA Rams have found ways to make everyone contribute effectively. That’s a significant step on this defense. After all, when the starting 11 boasts the likes of All-Pro Aaron Donald, it’s too easy to step back and watch him work. Unfortunately, that is how the Rams defense seemed to operate.
While there are still vestiges of that formula at times, the Rams defense is simply a better product this year because everyone is contributing. Well, everyone is expected to contribute this season. Good play is rewarded with more defensive snaps, while inferior play typically results in fewer snaps.
Everyone has a role to play
The LA Rams defense rotates six players on the defensive line: Aaron Donald, Michael Brockers, Sebastian Joseph Day, Morgan Fox, Greg Gaines, and A’Shawn Robinson. Yes, All-Pro Aaron Donald is the headliner name from the group. But the team counts on the contributions from everyone. Players like Fox and Gaines are part of this defense’s dominance. Fox puts pressure on the quarterback, while Gaines plugs up the middle of the defense.
The Rams defense is a mix and match set of players with different roles on different plays. But like any machinery, the beauty is in how all of the dissimilar parts come together for a single purpose. Those parts may not be much to look at individually, but the Rams defense can purr with the best of them when they all take the field together.
