As the LA Rams face their 12th game of the 2020 NFL Season, they have been rather successful in this spot under HC Sean McVay
The LA Rams are succeeding against all odds once more. This is the team that has defeated the Seattle Seahawks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the San Francisco 49er, and must now face the Arizona Cardinals. This is no easier than any of the previous three matchups after the Rams by week, but no more difficult.
The Rams have been here before this season. They are on the road to face a powerfully effective offense. Their opponent can win on the ground or via the air. And the opposing offense has at least one wide receiver that everyone is talking about, a quarterback whose fans believe is capable of winning the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, and a running game that can quickly get things out of hand. And yet, the Rams are 2-1 in their last three games.
History of the 12th game
Since LA Rams hired head coach Sean McVay, he has led the Rams to 11-5, 13-3, 9-7, and now in a 7-4 season. The Rams win for McVay, and there is a good reason for that. He prepares the team, thinks outside the box, and gives the Rams a fighting chance in each game. In 2017, the LA Rams faced the Arizona Cardinals and defeated them on the road by a score of 32-16. It was the Rams’ second victory over the Cardinals that season and carried them to 9-3.
In 2018, the LA Rams faced the Detroit Lions in week 12 and won that game by a score of 30-16. That propelled the Rams to an 11-1 record. The Rams won both games against the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 as well. In 2019, the LA Rams faced the Arizona Cardinals on the road once more. This time, the Rams won on the road by a score of 34-7 to climb to 7-5. The Rams ended up winning both games against the Cardinals that year as well.
In fact, the LA Rams have not lost to the Arizona Cardinals with McVay at the helm. They last lost to the Cardinals in 2016 by a score of 44-6 to fall to 4-12 for the season, and prompt a move at head coach.
The Rams versus Cardinals is underway. The Cardinals lead by a score of 7-0 but the Rams are driving.
