WR Green

The LA Rams have plenty of stars on offense. But if wide receiver A.J. Green has any interest in a one-year prove-it deal, then the LA Rams are the perfect incubation chamber. Green has enjoyed a remarkable NFL career, but his time with the Cincinnati Bengals is coming to an end. The Bengals are a young team now and planning to get younger to build around rookie quarterback Joe Burrow.

Meanwhile, A.J. Green remains an incredibly talented wide receiver whose time is running out on winning an NFL Championship. He is frustrated due to a lack of use. The Bengals are frustrated due to the number of injuries he’s suffered, and the lack of production he is generating this season. He is slated to become a free agent in 2021, but the interest of NFL teams is rather difficult to gauge.

Green could win an NFL Championship with the Rams

Green was drafted by the Bengals in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft with the fourth pick. He immediately rose to the 1000 yard mark that year and continued to put up over a thousand yards until an injury-shortened season in 2016. And it’s the frequency of injury that now places him in a high-risk category of further injury.  So why would the Rams seek to sign him?

Green is a huge target at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. With the Rams, he would be one of several receivers who can move the chains, making him very dangerous indeed and extending his NFL career a bit.  Right now, Green is suffering a bit of a lull. In 14 games, he has caught just 46.6 percent of the passes thrown his way for 419 yards and two touchdowns. Thankfully, the Rams do not need prime-Green. The Rams can make use of exactly what Green is now, and feature him on three or four-wide receiver formations. Green on the Rams offense in 2021 is a solid fit.
