Who will be the LA Rams star against the Jets?

The LA Rams have a talented roster. But which player will step up and lead the team against the Jets?

The LA Rams have had a number of talented players star on any given week. But the team tends to feature a different player in each game. That is one of the reasons why the Rams offense has a number of ‘good’ players, but no single player who becomes a weekly headliner for national football media.

That feature of the offense and defense has protected the team somewhat. Throughout the season, the team has oscillated between outstanding offensive play and outstanding defensive play. So that leaves the question for this week’s critical game against the New York Jets?

The Rams have all the motivation in the world to show up large-and-in-charge against the visiting and winless Jets. For starters, the Rams clinch a playoff berth with either a win or a tie against the Jets. Secondly, the Rams must prove that they have the ability to win more than two consecutive games. In the playoffs, lose and the team goes home. As it now stands, the Rams will need to win four consecutive playoff games to win the Lombardi.

Thirdly, the Rams need to build momentum.  The team that ends hot in the regular season is the most dangerous team in the playoffs.  Right now, the Rams are vying to be that ‘hot’ team. And they can be if they win out. Since the bye week, the Rams have defeated four teams that have certainly been in post-season discussions all year. Their only loss was to a 49ers team that is all but eliminated from the playoffs.

The Rams, like any other playoff team, do not want to back into the playoffs.  That means winning and winning means players stepping up when the spotlight shines in their direction. Of course, the Rams have had a host of different players lead the team to victory. So which player has the stuff to become the lead dog in this one? Well, that’s what we are here to discuss. Let’s focus on the defense.
