LA Rams injury update: Head coach McVay talks roster and strategy for round two of the NFL Playoffs

The LA Rams have won a game against all the odds, and have advanced to the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs.  Of course, as the Rams advance, they face stiffer competition as well, so the momentum built from the preview week’s success may or may not be enough to dislodge their next opponent from the crest of the NFC seeding.

The Rams did not emerge unscathed from the wild card round. The team lost a quarterback, two key defenders, an offensive lineman, and even a running back. Some players would return to the game, others would sit it out on the sidelines, and one would be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance for diagnostic tests. So where does that leave the LA Rams for the divisional round?

What’s the Rams strategy?

To learn the answer for that one, we turn towards head coach Sean McVay himself, who was more than happy to talk roster, injuries, and strategy on Sunday, January 10, 2021. The Rams were sharp in that game against the Seattle Seahawks, and for the first time, the Rams leveraged a healthy lead of 30-13 against the Seahawks to keep banged-up players out.

So the Rams will be heading north to face the NFC best Green Bay Packers.

That will create its own set of issues, and issues the Rams will plan to defeat. One known factor is the cold weather that awaits the Rams and something that we have talked about a month ago. Now, let’s dive into some particulars about the Rams against the Packers, a team the LA Rams have not faced since a 29-27 victory in Los Angeles on October 28, 2018. This is a new Packers team, and this is a new Rams team.
