The LA Rams have just completed the regular season, and their 2021 NFL schedule opponents are already named

The LA Rams have moved up in the world. After playing a third-place team schedule in 2020, the Rams will take on the second-place team schedule for 2021. A second-place team schedule did not hurt the chances for the Seattle Seahawks this year, so there is no need to dread next season quite yet. Well, until we learn more, that is.

The Rams 2021 opponents are set for next year’s schedule.

Sixteen games are on the docket, with the usual in-division home and away games against their NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers. Our division is certainly no cake-walk,  by any measure. All three of those teams come at you intent on giving you a face full of Rydell.

The schedule is weighted towards the black-and-blue NFC North division with games slated against all four teams here – the Packers, Vikings, Lions, and Da Bears (oh my!)

There’s a sprinkling of NFC South and AFC South games, with a particularly enticing match-up versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Could they possibly top that nail-biter of a Monday Night Football showdown of this year?

And then there are two games versus solid, well-coached teams in the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans, both of which appear to be one or two impact players away from returning to the playoffs after both were dispatched early from this year’s round.

Their only scheduled opponent from the NFC L(East) is the New York Giants, which is unfortunate, considering how the Rams mopped up against the NFL’s weakest division this year. So, no powder-puff games to chalk up here like this year.

Rounding out the opposing foes are games versus the Urban Meyer-led Jacksonville Jaguars and the disappointing dumpster-fire Houston Texans, two games you can pencil in for wins against teams that are likely not playoff caliber just yet.

As an aside, should the NFL decide to expand the 2021 schedule to 17 games, then the Rams would face the Baltimore Ravens.  Part of me is hoping it doesn’t expand to 17 games just to avoid playing that hard-nosed bruiser of a team.

All in all, it’s not an insurmountably tough schedule and one that certainly could have been a lot tougher, given our 2020 results. It’s always a good thing to not have to face the Mahones-led Chiefs and a team I believe will be much better after this year’s draft in the Las Vegas Raiders.

More specific dates and times information is to be released later. Buckle up for the ride, Rams fans.
