LA Rams future draft picks – 2021 NFL Draft and beyond
By Bret Stuter
The LA Rams have been very active in trading NFL draft picks. And their latest coup of trading both quarterback Jared Goff and multiple first-round draft picks along with a third-round pick for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. Of course, the LA Rams offense has a shiny new toy to generate all kinds of overdramatic optimism and overhyped fervor. So that’s something.
The Rams have no love of draft picks. In fact, the Rams seem to use them as coins, ready to dump them at the earliest convenience. Or perhaps, a better analogy is that the Rams view NFL Draft picks as poker chips or tokens. The LA Rams prefer to let other teams assume the risks inherent in drafting a rookie on day one. They would prefer to draft on day two when the salaries are far more palatable. Still, wouldn’t it be nice to hear the LA Rams call out a name on day one of the NFL Draft?
Perhaps, but the LA Rams have done almost everything possible to avoid day one of the NFL Draft since draft quarterback Jared Goff in 2016. We pulled together the LA Rams future draft picks. But it’s time for wholesale revisions. After all, the Rams just shipped three draft picks out. So where does that leave the team?
