Zaire Mitchell, Notre Dame of Ohio, TE

Following the theme of giving Stafford weapons, the Rams need a replacement for an eventual loss of Gerald Everett this offseason.

Zaire Mitchell from the University of Notre Dame of Ohio has a similar playstyle. He is great after the catch and can turn short catches into decent gains.

Mitchell is great at yards after the catch. He has impressive straight-line speed and can use his size to his advantage for jump balls.

While he plays similar to Everett he has one big difference. His height.

Mitchell is tall. ESPN has him at 6-foot-4 but Notre Dame of Ohio officially lists him at 6’7″. If the universities official height is correct he becomes a great red-zone threat allowing Stafford to throw it above the defense to only where Mitchell can get it

The only thing worrying about him was his level of competition. Notre Dame of Ohio is a Division 2 school. His stats weren’t overly impressive besides his 13.5 yards per reception his final two years and the competition could’ve made him look better than he truly is.

He is the definition of a developmental player and will most likely be used in a limited role.

Mitchell’s comp is Demetrius Harris. Both are tall in stature and play a very limited role. With Tyler Higbee and the addition of Brycen Hopkins expect Mitchell in the TE3 role only to see the field in jumbo sets when multiple tight ends are needed.
